About me

My name's Joel, I am an accomplished Senior Motion Designer, 2D animator, Editor and Sound Designer, who's highly experienced working for global agencies on top tier brands. As well as a lot of direct to client work with well known companies and institutions.
So far this year I have worked on projects for the United Nations, Ford x Disney, Pernod Ricard, Moderna and Amazon Prime.

I get re-hired by my clients a lot, who I've been told appreciate my attention to detail, ability to work quickly but effectively, going the extra mile for a project and interrogating the brief - looking to find that extra little something that wasn't explicitly outlined. And always, always meeting deadlines.

'm very comfortable working remotely, I know what the expectations from busy and demanding clients are. When briefed I ask the right questions, suggest various approaches, outline a plan and start creating high quality work right away.

The most regular agency client in my now fairly lengthy freelance career is Wieden + Kennedy. As you can see in my CV I've worked on lots of different projects for them and their clients since 2017. Working with them is the closest I've come to a regular job and their focus on making great, creative work; plus the value they place on everyone's role in their fantastic teams has been a big highlight in my career.

I'm an expert in After Effects, Premiere and all of the Adobe suite. Using them for as long as I've been using computers! My skills also encompass storyboarding, illustration, graphic design, creating pre-vis animatics, sound design, audio and VO production and media licensing. I specialise in 2D but I've recently been using AE's new beta version as Adobe incorporated 3D capabilities into it for the first time. Also experimenting into how to leverage AI, using it for pre-vis on a recent project.
