About me

Originally from Birmingham and now living in Kent, I am a Creative Designer with over 14 years' of industry experience.

Since starting in the publishing industry, learning about editorial content, correct usage of corporate content, pagination, design, layout and typography, I have gained a solid backbone of skills which have proven invaluable throughout my career.

After four years in publishing, I transitioned to the games industry, learning about 3D modelling, texturing and animation. During this time I headed the design and creation of a set of monthly 3D comic books for LEGO and the BBC as well as LEGO Star Wars (Lucas Arts).

Following this, I went on to work for a range of creative agencies and media marketing agencies allowing me to expand my skillset by learning Flash, Web Design, Illustration and PowerPoint as well as gaining experience in most sectors within the creative industry.

For the past three years, I have been creating high-level, corporate PowerPoint presentations, corporate re-branding, website designs, emailer designs, 3D designs and illustrations for leading London-based Media Marketing Agencies. I have worked with a variety of clients such as BT, Vodafone, Olympics 2012 and Land Rover to name but a few.

I am currently working as a freelance/contractor but am ideally seeking a long-term position. Having worked as a freelancer for around 4 years, I feels that I would like to follow a more solid career path where I can sink my teeth into new projects and develop within a team environment. However, I am still interested in freelance/contract work to enable me to maintain my core skillset.

Freelance/Contract Day rate:

£ per day depending on the work required.

Skills

When I was 17 I was starting a degree course in art and design. I applied for an advert with a publishing company in my area who were looking for a Graphic Designer, never expecting to get the role but trying to gain interview experience. As it happened, on the strength of the portfolio I had at the time I was actually offered the job. Therefore I took industry experience over a qualification. I am now 33 years old and have worked in the creative industry ever since.
