What's the job?

We are looking for an ideas-led Senior Interior Designer whose role is to manage their own projects and client relationships to deliver excellent on-brand creative ideas and 3D design solutions. As well as concept creation you will need to be able to develop your ideas, retaining the same high standards, providing clear and accurate team briefings and production information. You will need to demonstrate experience in managing client relationships, understanding internal client pressures and working within the constraints of their budget and brief.

Responsibilities

Your range of duties will include;

1. Building the client business though creative and design development skills

• a brand-orientated approach to interior design
• creative input into brief, develop design methodology, creative opportunities, marketing awareness
• building and developing trust and therefore great relationships with the client
• watch creative and design press for new developments relevant to the client

 2. Inspiring creative excellence in the team

• demonstrate confidence and clarity, forward planning about what needs to be done
• feeding the design team with stimulus / influence / inspiration / current trends
• creates a positive team environment in which individuals and team can achieve
• supports and nurtures the development of skills and behaviours in others, gives recognition

2. Working within budgets allocated, and to being proactive in ensuring that realistic fee proposals are agreed with clients.

3. Providing operational design management to the team across all project work streams

• give first class briefs to the team, interpret accurately and challenge, identify wider opportunities, deliver first class design and information.
• pro-actively manage your team and work with account team/Directors and client to ensure we deliver work effectively, identifying, clarifying and ultimately solving any issues that may develop in the course of the relationship or individual projects
• to be articulate in client meetings and present design and information

4.Raising the profile of Start JG within the industry, develop internal pride

•  ‘raise the creative bar'. Establish internal forums and external visits, bring the outside in, press, trends, ‘gurus', street, culture       

About you

What we would like to see from you is;

• Someone who lives and breathes branded-interior design and understands their relevance, value and input to the brand
• A minimum of 5 years 3D environmental design experience. Design agency experience up to senior designer level
• Experience of managing teams to deliver design excellence
• Be a first class mentor to mid-weight and junior designer level
• Experience of traditional agency structures and working practices
• A portfolio of amazing work demonstrating your range of abilities
• Experience using Acad and/or Vectorworks. An understanding of Photoshop, in-design and 3D Studio is desirable
• An excellent eye for detail and consistency, applied to all design work
