Programme Director (Grade 7) and MA Communication Design Course Leader (Grade 6), 1.0 FTE – one post
£47,247 - £57,071 per annum.
This summer, Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design moved to its new purpose built campus at Kings Cross.
The College has chosen to use its relocation as the catalyst for reviewing its purpose and reconsidering the most appropriate organisational structures to fulfil its goals. As a result, nine new programmes have been established to bring teaching, research and their management into closer alignment as communities of learning, innovation and enterprise.
The new King's Cross site is an innovative building situated in a historic part of Central London with facilities designed around the creative needs of students, as well as to enable our teachers to deliver outstanding tuition. This exciting educational environment will be ideal for anyone who wants to be a part of a new chapter in the story of Central Saint Martins, and a new era in arts education.
Graphic Communication Design
The Graphic Communication Programme has been formed to establish a single subject community of learning, with a team of colleagues responsible for the delivery of the current BA (Honours) Graphic Design and MA Communication Design courses, the supervision of Research Degrees in the area and for the development of new course provision and research and enterprise initiatives.
As Programme Director you will be responsible for the formulation of the academic vision for Graphic Communication Design in the College and the leadership of the Programme team in the delivery and continuous development of its existing courses and the proposition of new courses of study. In so-doing you will set, monitor and exemplify standards, motivate and then apply.

Working with the support of the Programme Manager you will ensure the effective and efficient operation of teaching and learning and the orchestration of resources to ensure that courses are delivered and that the full potential of student's is enabled.
As a critical practitioner in Graphic Communication Design you will promote the pursuit of the highest academic standards and of reflection, enquiry and creative risk taking to ensure that students are well equipped intellectually, creatively and technically to not only meet the challenges of contemporary professional practice but to anticipate and initiate change. You will also encourage a culture of enterprise, working to align student learning activities and the practice and research of colleagues with opportunities for income generation.
As MA Communication Design Course Leader you will be responsible for assuring the academic standards of the course. You will ensure the delivery of the course through your academic leadership the effective management of resources, with the Programme Manager, providing a stimulating and nurturing environment for students and colleagues alike. Through professional networks you will ensure the continuous development of the course by reflecting critically on the broader context of practice and educational provision internationally.
