Contract Packaging Design Planner needed asap!
My client is a British icon retail brand. They are currently looking for an experienced Packaging Design Planner to join their in-house design studio on a long term rolling contract.
Background to vacancy/technical skills/business skills required:
Strong self-motivator with close attention to detail · Must enjoy, and be up to, the challenge of handling many projects simultaneously · Needs to be capable of owning the job in its entirety, from brief to in-store delivery · Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate to a wide variety of people.
What is the purpose of the job? / What do you need to achieve?
To track the progress of all Packaging jobs through Design against the agreed Marketing critical paths.
Identify and resolve deviations to plan to ensure that design is delivered to agreed budget and timeline.
Escalate as appropriate to the Design Planning Manager any issues, which can not be satisfactorily resolved.
Flow information and resources required by design to the designers to ensure optimum use of design resource.
To manage the estimating and cost management of all design associated costs incurred by the design area in the production of Packaging.
Monitoring the progress of all Packaging jobs against the agreed activity plan to ensure design is delivered on plan.
Identification and resolution of any deviation or conflict within the plan, which could impact on either, the timeline, cost or quality of output achieved. Where resolution can not be achieved, take accountability for the escalation to the D&P Planning Manager for resolution.
Scheduling at the project initiation, all packaging briefings and de-briefings into the appropriate design forum and communicating this to the BU for inclusion on the critical path.
- Receiving all Commercial Unit information and supplying it to the Design function as specified according to the critical path. Accountable for the provision of initial cost estimates to the Commercial Units. Accountable for tracking actual costs incurred against estimate for all Packaging design (including photography). Supply the BU with final costing for the job on completion and PIR feedback. Liaison with art workers.
