Event Prop Hire (EPH) based just outside York is the market leader in the design, manufacture and supply of Props and Theming to the corporate events industry, regularly featuring in popular TV shows and Magazines.

We are looking to maintain this standard and further develop our reputation by recruiting an exceptional graphic designer to complete our highly creative team of sculptors, artists and CNC operators.

The Role

Your primary responsibility will be to produce exceptional designs for both our external clients and internal projects.  Designs can vary from the design of graphics that accentuate the ‘mood' of a prop to conceptual designs of entire events used to secure contracts for high profile events with clients such as BP, Sky or even The X-Factor!

The successful Candidate MUST demonstrate their ability in the following areas:

• Generation of conceptual visuals to support the sales team including ideas for new props & event design & layout concepts using line drawings, rendered sketches & ideally 3d modelling.
• Generation of manufacturing & technical drawing for workshop team to work from.
• The creation of web optimised images (Re-touching of images, file compression etc)
• Design of vector files for use with CNC milling and cutting machinery in either Illustrator or Art-Cam.
• The creation of artwork for wide-format digital printing and vinyl cutting.
• The design and production of graphics for events at any scale from A5 size to 6m banner.

The person

We want someone with that creative spark, great conceptual skills & a natural interest in what we do.You will be well organised & capable of managing your own time. The industry we work within is extremely fast paced. You will need to have excellent communication skills with a strong sense of task ownership to work closely & effectively with different teams (workshop, warehouse, sales & management) to ensure project deadlines are met.

The candidate must be adept & have a genuine interest in using the following software packages:

• Adobe CS4 Photoshop
• Illustrator,
• InDesign,
• Google Sketch-up
• Windows environment and Microsoft Office

Training will be provided in the following

Art-Cam 2D & 3D.

Wasatch Soft-RIP (Graphic vinyl and Livery software.)

Additional knowledge (non essential)

• Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks is of interest.
• 3D Modelling Software – Solidworks / 3D StudioMax / Rhino (this is a capability we're looking to grow in the near future)
