Become Successful! Our client a global financial services organisation seeks a Design Team Leader to join their highly successful new business and bids team. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Team Leader or Lead Designer looking to make the natural progression, to join a forward thinking and successful design function.  You will have a book and past experience that spans print and digital, with a good understanding of current web technologies(HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AS3). You'll be comfortable with the challenge of leading an in-house team, being hands-on and comfortable handling multiple projects at one time.  Ideally you will be comfortable client facing, working closely with and presenting to them. 

You will be an excellent communicator, whilst setting the standards for your team.

Key tasks

Follow standards for branded materials such as internally produced covers, brochures and standard graphics Design and production of graphics for presentations, diagrams, maps, scanning, photo retouching, brochures, advertising, web, multimedia, exhibitions and conferences.

Take briefs from clients whilst advising them on the best possible style and layout for design work within corporate guidelines

To direct art projects, setting standards and interpreting briefs

Project management, pre empting issues, coordinating artwork, print and delivery

To liaise with external suppliers of services, especially print houses, and to ensure that work meets exact requirements as specified

To keep abreast of design developments and to bring new ideas to the department and set and communicate standards for all designers

General support as required to other members of the team

To guide and advise other members of the team in the design and use of template material, providing training where necessary

To be a technical expert in all areas of design for print

To ensure quality control and pre-flight checking procedures are adhered

To work closely and collaboratively with regional offices

To provide cover for Workflow and or Manager where necessary

To effectively use the management information and tracking system

Skills Expert design skills in Adobe Creative Suite 5 skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); Flash animation, motion graphics/video and sound is desirable (Flash/After Effects) Flash, Adobe Premiere and Dreamweaver/Go live will be an advantage

Extensive understanding of professional offset and digital print processes

Good understanding of current web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AS3), trends and developments

A solid understanding of web usability and information architecture MS PowerPoint skills desirable though not essential
