Project Manager at one of Canada's Coolest Firms  

Heavy Industries (www.heavyworld.com) is looking to the United Kingdom's community of creatives for help in finding a world class Project Manager with significant experience managing the production of unique architectural elements, custom construction projects, or large scale public artworks.  

Heavy Industries is a full service design and fabrication company that builds sculptures and architectural features for some of the world's most creative artists, architects and professional designers.  

A team from Heavy will be traveling to London this spring to interview candidates. Successful candidates will be flown back to Calgary, Canada for another interview and for an opportunity to ski and explore the nearby Rocky Mountains and the city we call home.

Compensation will be negotiated fairly for your level of experience (consider $60,000-$100,000 CAN/year plus benefits as a starting point) with annual reviews and potential performance bonuses. Job Description:  

If you are the Project Manager we are looking for then you will already understand what it takes to be a top performer in this role; here are some of the highlights:   Project Initiation and Business Development : 

• Assist with the creation of “how to build it” plans and quality control standards 
• Become intimately familiar with our contracted scopes for easily identifying "add-on" sales opportunities 
• Ensure project legal documents are completed and signed 
• Foresee risk to minimize our exposure

Project Management: 

• Implement and maintain project schedules and critical paths for in-house production resources and subcontracted resources 
• Participate in quality assurance processes and scope assessments

Project Accounting: 

• Track and report production hours and costs weekly 
• Ensure timely and accurate milestone invoicing and monitor receivables for projects.

Communication: 

• Manage the day-to-day operational duties, including client and team member interactions
• Facilitate project team and client meetings

Professional Development: 

• Upgrade your qualifications by attending courses and conferences 
• Remain on the forefront of emerging industry practices and noteworthy benchmarks
