The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and capable Studio Manager to take ownership of the smooth running of our growing design studio in Shoreditch. Based within Mother much of the finance and IT will be taken care of. However, you will need to manage expenses and timesheets and be literate in servers, formats and delivery of artwork.  

Core responsibilities:

• The right candidate will maximise the efficiency of our studio by implementing appropriate and best practice procedures and manage the day to day running of our lively studio: the team, external resources, the diary, supplies, equipment and meeting rooms. 
• As a priority you will oversee traffic/workflow through the studio, ensure workloads are reasonable and achievable, maintain timesheets and liaise with other departments within the company on deliverables. Measurement and monitoring of the workload of the studio is integral to delivering projects on time, on budget and to an ambitious standard.
• The role will involve setting the studio up with infrastructure, a good library and help build a database of strong creative freelancers. You will ensure the studio has adequate resources by scheduling any necessary freelancers and provide inductions. 
• You will ensure the technical infrastructure works correctly and liaise with the IT dept to arrange for any necessary maintenance, upgrades, repairs and replacement of consumables etc. You will be responsible for organising files on the server and ensure that regular back up takes place as per company policy.
• There may be an occasional need to help with project management – estimate project costs, timescales and source skills, suppliers or materials.

• An ability to empathise with creative, technical and business needs to balance against time and cost considerations
• Excellent people, team management and leadership skills – to get the best out of individuals. An ability to resolve problems or performance issues with diplomacy is vital
• Good communication and presentation skills
• An understanding of project management
• Strong writing skills
• Financial awareness and an ability to manage budgets
• Passionate about the creative industries and contemporary culture
• A combination of creative and technical skills – a strong understanding of processes, delivery technologies and capabilities – across networks, servers, ftp etc.

Please Note - We can only consider applicants who can clearly demonstrate within their CV several years of studio management experience, working within an Integrated, advertising, digital or design agency environment.

Contract There will be a three-month probationary period. Benefits Package applies on completion of probation period.
